Legal Counsel

Our legal counsel team provide general legal advice, negotiate commercial contracts with clients/suppliers and support to the SS&C Group’s business units and corporate support functions (and may involve having the responsibility to be the principal point of liaison between the Legal Team and particular business units within SS&C Group); and

What You Will Get To Do:
Mainly – Commercial Contracts
To review, draft and negotiate legal agreements with clients, suppliers and other counterparties;
Governance & Legal Risk Management
To assist with the maintenance and enforcement of SS&C Group Policies and procedures, in particular those governing the signature of contracts;
To participate in the risk management activity of the business including if required by attendance at risk committees.
Occasionally – Dispute Resolution
To provide initial advice on disputes and claims between the Company and third parties, there is a separate litigation function;
Very Occasional – Company Secretarial
To assist, if required, with mergers, acquisitions, restructuring and other corporate activity.
Very Occasional – HR Support
To assist, if required, to provide advice and support to the HR team in connection with staff disputes, claims, grievances and other legal issues arising.
What You Will Bring:
- Has worked with sales teams before not just procurement side
- Minimum 1+ years pqe
- BPO outsourcing/commercial contracts work or software SAAS licensing etc. Ability to negotiate and draft commercial contracts and contribute to setting up precedents and processes.
- Excellent communication skills and pride in your work.
- Ability to build strong and trusted relationships with internal clients (including sales and commercial teams) and external stakeholders, cheerful and positive.
- Good knowledge, and an excellent user, of Microsoft Word (other suite application knowledge helpful).
- Ability to organise, prioritise and manage a heavy workload and to meet tight deadlines.
- Good working knowledge of data protection law. Appropriate professional legal qualifications and/or experience
