Systems Engineering Manager – Off-Highway Machinery

Location: UK (Hybrid/Office-Based)

About the Role

This role focuses on hydraulic and electrohydraulic system development for off-highway machinery, working closely with OEMs in construction, agriculture, and material handling. You will manage system engineering projects, customer requirements, and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Lead the design, integration, and validation of hydraulic and electrohydraulic systems for OEMs.

• Develop next-generation control systems for improved efficiency and performance.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Product & Customer Focus

• Oversee engineering teams developing fluid power and control solutions.

• Manage custom system solutions for OEM clients.

• Provide technical support to sales and business development teams.

Strategic & Operational Leadership

• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in system design.

• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers.

Key Requirements

✔️ Experience: 5+ years in hydraulic systems, fluid power, or mobile machinery engineering, with team leadership experience.

✔️ Industry Background: Experience with JCB, Caterpillar, Volvo CE, Komatsu, or similar preferred.

✔️ Technical Knowledge: Expertise in hydraulic circuits, electrohydraulic controls, and system integration.

✔️ Customer Engagement: Ability to work directly with OEM clients.

✔️ Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Power, or similar.

✔️ Travel: UK and international travel as required.
