WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT FOR US
The Head of Platform Product Management is a senior leadership role responsible for 30 product owners shaping the strategic direction and execution of platform automation, developer experience, Service orchestration, AI & Insights.
This role ensures that platform capabilities evolve to meet scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency goals, driving innovation while optimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) on cloud services.
As part of the Platform leadership team, this role focuses on defining and managing the engineering backlog, ensuring that investments in streaming, API improvements, and DevOps pipelines align with business priorities. By fostering a product mindset within platform teams, this role ensures that platform services deliver maximum value to developers and end-users. This role also plays a key part in advancing the DevOps operating model, improving automation, and enabling seamless self-service capabilities for internal users as well as our clients.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Platform Product Strategy & Execution
- Define and execute the platform product strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, engineering priorities, and cloud cost efficiency (TCO) as well as operational efficiency.
- Own the backlog for engineering teams, prioritizing investments in streaming, API enhancements, developer experience, and analytics capabilities.
- Drive the evolution of platform interfaces, ensuring seamless integration and usability for developers and internal stakeholders.
- Lead the development of new AI & Data capabilities, ensuring platform services can support scalable machine learning, analytics, and automation for products as well as ITSM.
Cloud Cost Optimization & Operational Efficiency
- Maintain a strong focus on TCO, ensuring platform investments are optimized for cost, performance, and scalability.
- Drive Cloud FinOps teams to monitor cloud costs, identify inefficiencies, and implement cost-saving strategies as well as oversee reservation strategies.
- Establish automated governance models to track usage, optimize resource allocation, and ensure platform sustainability.
Enhancing Developer Experience & Platform Interfaces
- Champion developer self-service capabilities, ensuring that internal teams have automated, well-documented, cost-efficient and user-friendly platform services.
- Improve API strategies, ensuring that platform APIs are consistent, well-documented, and aligned with business and engineering needs.
- Standardize platform interfaces, making it easier for developers and data teams to consume services efficiently and securely.
Driving DevOps Mindset & Pipeline Improvements
- Lead the shift towards a DevOps-first operating model, ensuring platform teams focus on automation, reliability, and continuous delivery.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines, enabling faster, more reliable deployments across infrastructure, application platforms, and data services.
- Drive adoption of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and policy-as-code, ensuring modern software delivery best practices.
Cross-Team Alignment & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, security, and Delivery teams in PD to align platform product decisions with technical and business needs.
- Ensure platform teams operate as enablers for business teams, providing scalable, reliable, and efficient services.
- Advocate for a data-driven approach, using platform metrics, performance insights, and user feedback to drive continuous improvements.
WHAT WE VALUE
- 12+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on platform automation, developer experience, and AI & Insights.
- Proven track record of defining and executing platform product strategy aligned with business goals and cloud cost efficiency.
- Extensive experience in managing engineering backlogs and prioritizing investments in streaming, API enhancements, and DevOps pipelines.
- Strong background in driving the evolution of platform interfaces for seamless integration and usability.
- Demonstrated ability to lead the development of scalable AI & Data capabilities.
- Proven focus on optimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and implementing cost-saving strategies.
- Experience in establishing automated governance models for resource allocation and platform sustainability.
- Skilled in championing developer self-service capabilities and improving API strategies.
- Strong collaborative skills, with experience leading the shift towards a DevOps-first operating model.
