We are searching for a Cyber Analyst

The Role:

The primary purpose of this role is to proactively defend the organisation’s digital assets against active threats by detecting, analysing, and responding to cyber attacks and vulnerabilities in real time. In addition, this role will play a vital role in maintaining a robust security posture and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information systems.

In addition, they will:

  • Support the deployment and management of the Cyber Security Strategy.
  • Monitor and protect the bank from cyber threats by actively analysing security alerts from multiple sources and responding in real time to identify and address any potential issues.
  • Build and improve a robust security operations function within the Bank whilst providing expert guidance on current and emerging cyber threats.
  • Enhance the banks cyber controls in line with cyber security standards i.e. NIST, NCSC.
  • Assist project teams with cyber reviews and queries to ensure proactive threat detection.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all security procedures i.e. Incident Response Plans and Procedures.
  • Directly manage configuration updates to security tools across cloud & on-premise environments.
  • Enhance, oversee and support critical cyber operations like access control, patch management, vulnerability assessments and security awareness.
  • Contribute to designing secure network architectures and identifying optimal protection strategies.
  • Develop scoping documents for penetration tests to define testing parameters and objectives.
  • Perform routine vulnerability assessments and assist in addressing and resolving identified issues.
  • Document incidents and generate reports for team members and key staff.
  • Work with the Cyber team and the IT Operations team to expand their role and advise on issues.
  • Engage in the monitoring and auditing of systems and processes, including identity and access management, using advanced security approaches such as zero-trust models.
  • Develop and deliver cyber security awareness programs/training sessions to improve employee vigilance.

The Person:

This role requires an innovating and engaged thinker who can embrace innovation and support the Cyber Lead in developing the existing Cyber security strategy.

  • Proven experience of working in a similar role.
  • Understanding of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Incident Response management
  • Previous involvement in cyber security projects and initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on experience with EDR solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of frameworks – Cyber Essentials, NIST and ISO 27001.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft stack technologies.
  • Experience in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Recognised industry certifications or equivalent experience (e.g. GIAC, CompTIA, OSCP).
  • Familiarity with achieving and maintaining certifications such as Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001.
