JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSESupports the Nuclear Finance Business Partners (FBP) in their strategic role to provide support to the Entergy Nuclear leadership team. The manager will participate in the process to develop and provide ongoing evaluation of the short and long term strategic and financial plans and provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities. This position also participates in ensuring the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and is the point person for driving continuous improvements throughout the Nuclear FBP organization.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the process to advise in the development of the strategic and financial plan for the Nuclear function.
- Evaluate processes to identify areas to streamline and standardize across the fleet.
- Corporate Functional Area Manager for outage cost development, tracking and control.
- Manage the spending risks and opportunity process for the corporation.
- Work directly with the FBP team to be knowledgeable of efforts underway across the nuclear fleet affecting the financial plan, evaluate challenges to those plans, and make recommendations to adjust accordingly.
- Ensure that financial modeling assumptions and inputs are supplied to Corporate Planning in a timely manner.
- Support Nuclear FBP in advising Nuclear on accounting and finance matters.
- Support Nuclear FBP in reporting and explaining monthly, quarterly and annual budget performance as well as year-to-year, quarter-to-quarter and month-to-month changes to the Entergy management team.
- Identify accounting and financial issues and ensure these issues are adequately resolved with the assistance of others from within the Accounting/Finance departments.
- Monitor certain key internal controls over financial reporting.
- Facilitate the process to report and explain financial performance to Nuclear leadership as well as Finance leadership.
- Develop and provide periodic spending information in required formats to meet needs such as 10-K and Investor Relations, OpCo Finance Directors and Adhoc requests.
- Working with business partners, participate in the process to design / execute business and accounting solutions to complex issues.
- Act with fiduciary prudence in the best interest of the ratepayers and shareholders.
- Align the functional spending plans/strategies with business financial plans, evaluating functional impact as well as legal entity and ETR results.
- Develop management recommendations regarding strategy and timing of expenditures.
- Evaluate processes to identify areas to streamline and standardize across the fleet and actively manage the development of tools (e.g., PowerBI) to improve and streamline reporting to the Nuclear function.
- Corporate Functional Area Manager for development and tracking of Nuclear’s capital, O&M, and outage costs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Requires a college or university degree in Finance or Accounting or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Desired: MBA or CPA.
Minimum experience required of the position
- 6+ years, with financial lead roles highly desired.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the positionSkills:
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate externally and at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in PC Windows environment and ability to work with financial systems.
- Process design and optimization experience desired.
- Experience with administration/use of Utilities International forecasting Forecast and/or Asset modules is highly desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of Power Query, Power BI highly desirable.

- Systems Thinking: Understanding of information technology systems and data management processes.
- Customer Focus: Provide financial support for Nuclear organization.
