Functional Assessor – Registered Healthcare Professional

Salary: £39,500 + annual salary reviews & bonus schemes Hours: 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday No weekends | No shift work | No bank holidays Location: Hybrid working – Homebased and Assessment Centre. Contract: Permanent – Full Time, Part Time and Flexible Hours considered

We are a trusted provider of independent health assessments on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), helping ensure people across the UK receive the right support based on fair, evidence-led clinical assessments.

Who We Need: 

We are looking for fully qualified, registered clinicians from the following backgrounds:

  • Registered Nurses – RGN, RN, RMN, RNLD
  • Occupational Therapists (OT)
  • Physiotherapists (PHYSIO)
  • Paramedics (PARA)
  • Pharmacists

  • Be fully registered with the relevant professional body: NMC, HCPC, GMC, or GPhC
  • Must have 1 year of post-registration clinical experience
  • Be experienced in working with individuals aged 16 to 65 and above
  • Have a strong understanding of long-term illnesses and conditions
  • Demonstrate excellent IT, typing, and written communication skills
  • Be confident in conducting assessments and writing clinical reports independently

The Role as a Functional Assessor, you will:

  • Conduct assessments via telephone, video or in-person consultations
  • Assess individuals with a wide range of physical, mental health, cognitive, and sensory conditions
  • Evaluate how their health impacts daily life and compile a clear, evidence-based report
  • Work independently but with the support of an experienced, regionally based clinical team

You will not be making decisions on benefit entitlement — your role is purely to assess and report, ensuring fairness and accuracy.

Salary & Hours:

  • £39,500 starting salary
  • 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday only
  • Part Time hours available after completion of training. 
  • No weekends, no shift work, and no bank holidays
