What Is the Opportunity?We are looking for an Onshore Renewable Energy Underwriter to join our successful Renewable Energy Underwriting team in London. You will be responsible for supporting the management of the book’s profitability by underwriting and processing new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments, and monitoring rate adequacy.

This role is eligible for a £2,500 new joiner bonus.

What Will You Do?

  • Support the overall profitability, growth, and retention of the Line of Business.
  • Ensure that business is written in accordance with the Company’s policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Support the development of assigned Line of Business and services.
  • Utilize appropriate systems to accurately enter quotes, risks, and endorsements.
  • Monitor market factors and world affairs as part of research and development of new opportunities.
  • Promote Travelers Line of Business and provide guidance on the Company’s underwriting philosophy.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching to others as appropriate.
  • Deliver high-quality service to brokers and customers in line with our service standards.
  • Comply with all legal, insurance, regulatory, and company guidelines.
  • Continually look for improvement both from a personal and business perspective.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Experience within the Lloyd’s market preferred.
  • Underwriting experience preferred.
  • Degree preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge and ability in respect of judgment, decision making, communication, and teamwork.
  • Expected to be studying towards ACII qualification.

What is a Must Have?

  • Previous Property and Casualty insurance experience in either an underwriting, operational, or broker capacity.
  • Secondary level education or equivalent required.
