The Retail Operations and Event Manager role is responsible for overseeing the UK daily operations within our retail partners activity while planning and executing high-quality instore activations that drive customer engagement, brand awareness, and revenue growth. This role involves optimizing operational efficiency and ensuring exceptional customer service. The Retail Operations and Event Manager will also collaborate with marketing, sales, and external vendors to deliver instore activations that align with the company’s goals. We are searching for a dynamic individual who will thrive in our fast-paced environment. The success of this role is in the detail and leading with Luxury at the heart of everything we do. This role will involve working to strict deadlines which will require multitasking with multiple projects and timelines. On occasion, there may be a requirement to work weekends or evenings depending on launch timings.

You’ll be;

Retail Operations:

  1. Overseeing partner projects: Ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of Jellycat activations, including inventory management, merchandising, and relationship management.
  2. Training retail staff to ensure excellent customer service and efficient operations.
  3. Monitoring inventory levels, collaborating with suppliers, and ensuring timely restocking of products for activations.
  4. Maintaining high standards of customer service and ensuring customers have a positive in-store experience. Every detail matters.
  5. Overseeing budgets, managing project spend and aftercare when applicable.
  6. Ensuring compliance with company policies, health and safety standards.

Event Management:

  1. Planning, organizing, and executing showroom pop-ups for seasonal selling calendar and display piece roadshow across independents.
  2. Managing event budgets, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining high event quality.
  3. Coordinating with vendors, external partners, and sponsors to ensure successful event execution.
  4. Working closely with the marketing team to promote events through social media, email campaigns, and other marketing channels. Internal business promotion is important.
  5. Overseeing all aspects of event execution, including logistics, setup, staffing, and breakdown, ensuring seamless operations.
  6. Conducting post-event evaluations, including customer feedback, financial performance, and recommendations for future improvements.

You’ll have;

  1. Ideally 3-5 years of experience in retail management and/or event planning. Experience in a leadership role is a plus.
  2. A strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and manage staff.
  3. Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  4. Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for delivering an outstanding retail and event experience in the luxury retail sector.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable presenting to leadership and negotiating with vendors and stakeholders.
  6. The ability to manage budgets, analyze sales data, and ensure financial targets are met.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to adapt and find creative solutions under pressure.
  8. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with marketing tools like social media and CRM is a plus.
