The Role:As a Building Surveyor specialising in insurance claims, you will be responsible for assessing property damage, providing accurate reports, and guiding clients through the claims process. You will play a crucial role in ensuring fair outcomes for policyholders while maintaining strong relationships with insurers and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site inspections of residential and commercial properties affected by damage (e.g., fire, flood, subsidence).
- Produce detailed and accurate reports on building conditions and necessary remedial works.
- Liaise with insurers, loss adjusters, and policyholders to facilitate smooth claim progression.
- Provide expert advice on repair methodologies and costs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations and industry standards.
- Deliver clear communication and support to clients throughout the claims journey.
About You:
- Proven experience as a Building Surveyor, preferably within the insurance sector.
- Strong knowledge of building construction, pathology, and insurance claim processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail.
- Professional qualifications (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB) desirable but not essential.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
