About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Tester to join our team in supporting and optimizing critical communications systems within the rail industry. This role involves planning, executing, and documenting network testing procedures to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of digital and communications infrastructure across rail systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct end-to-end testing of railway communication networks, including wired and wireless infrastructure (e.g., GSM-R, LTE-R, IP/MPLS networks).
  • Perform system validation, stress testing, and fault simulation to identify vulnerabilities and performance issues.
  • Analyze network performance data and logs to troubleshoot latency, packet loss, and signal degradation.
  • Work closely with network engineers, system integrators, and control center teams to support deployment and commissioning phases.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, methodologies, results, and compliance with industry safety and regulatory standards.
  • Validate interoperability between legacy systems and modern communication platforms.
  • Assist with the integration of signalling systems, on-board communication units, and centralized control systems.

  • Support the development and automation of test scripts and monitoring tools.

About You

  • Degree or diploma in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in network testing, preferably within critical infrastructure or transportation.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.) on Linux is a must.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Wireshark, Iperf, SNMP, and network emulators or simulators.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and specifications.
  • Willingness to travel to rail sites and work in operational environments when necessary.
