The Infrastructure Advisory Group (IAG), part of KPMG Deal Advisory in the UK, comprises around 240 professionals and is recognized as a leading independent advisory in infrastructure, winning multiple awards including Financial Advisor of the Year (Infrastructure Journal). The group provides strategic, financial, regulatory, and commercial advice on infrastructure investments across the UK and globally, working on market design, policy analysis, deal structuring, and more.
Power & Utilities (P&U) is a major sector within IAG, serving energy and water utilities and large companies across Europe. Our expertise includes corporate finance, regulation, business planning, cost benchmarking, and investment structuring, aiming to maximize shareholder value and influence sector development.
Our P&U division includes seven practices: Strategy, Regulation, Finance, Projects, Low Carbon, Benchmarking, and Transactions, and is experiencing double-digit growth. We seek talented candidates to support our expansion and service development.
Services offered by the Transactions team include:
- Market and strategic analysis for acquisitions and corporate actions
- Regulatory due diligence for transactions involving utilities
- Commercial due diligence on infrastructure assets
- Advisory services on transactions, sector analysis, benchmarking, etc.
- Financial modeling and regulatory finance advice
- Collaboration with M&A practices for financial advice
The Role
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the UK utilities and energy sectors, experience with transactions, and the ability to manage advisory services, develop client relationships, and lead teams.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, especially infrastructure investors
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Manage delivery of multiple engagements, ensuring quality and adherence to standards
- Mentor and develop junior staff
- Contribute to internal and external promotion of services
The Person
Required skills and qualifications include:
- Deep knowledge of UK utilities and energy sectors
- Experience with transaction processes and financial analysis
- Strong client management and communication skills
- Leadership and team management experience
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar
