IT Business Analyst – Oil & Gas | Energy Trading

Location: Central London (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

Type: Contract

We’re partnering with a leading oil & gas client to find a highly capable IT Business Analyst who thrives at the intersection of business needs and technology. This is a hybrid role based in central London, requiring 3 days per week onsite. You’ll be key to delivering high-impact solutions through expert requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, process modeling, and Agile delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture and translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Model processes, data flows, and system interactions to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure end-to-end requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead stakeholder workshops and Agile ceremonies.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, and third-party vendors to ensure alignment and delivery.
  • Define and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Document systems, processes, and configurations using industry-standard tools.

Skills & Experience:

  • Recent experience in Oil & Gas, Commodities, or Energy Trading (essential).
  • 4–7 years’ experience as an IT Business Analyst.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile delivery (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
  • Experience with systems engineering, process analysis, and data modelling.
  • Confident leading stakeholder engagement and large workshops.
